BCA Students are High Achievers
Standardized Testing
Each spring our 1st grade through high school students take standardized tests. Our students continually score in the top 15% of the nation (highest % ranking awarded) and significantly above grade level.
STEM Lab
All K5 5th grade students enjoy hands-on/minds-on learning in our Elementary STEM lab where they merge literacy, science, technology, engineering and mathematics for fun and creative project-based learning opportunities.
Differentiated Instruction
Differentiated Instruction is the process by which a student's individual learning level is assessed and the teacher then designs instruction in core subject areas to meet that child's learning needs. For example, using the Words Their Way program, each child will learn spelling words tailored to their individual spelling growth. Using a Guided Reading approach, each child will read books at their own reading level, challenging them to read and grow at their appropriate pace. Differentiate Instruction is also evident through giving students choice in project types where they can choose topics/books/learning opportunities that match their interests and learning styles.
FLES Spanish Instruction
Using the FLES model, all K4 - 5th grade students receive Spanish instruction multiple times during the week rather than the traditional once a week. Learning a foreign language in shorter increments across multiple opportunities, and focusing on speaking rather than reading & writing on the elementary level, allows our students to enjoy the language at an early age while becoming more proficient Spanish speakers.
Music
All elementary students participate in BCA's annual Christmas program.

BCA has an excellent Phonics Based Reading Program. Research supports the fact that using phonics is the most effective means of teaching developmental reading. We teach phonics in K3, K4, K5, 1st and 2nd grades.
BCA ELEMENTARY STUDENTS ARE...
A positive correlation exists between an engaging learning environment & student achievement. Our loving and nurturing teachers create orderly classrooms while provide ongoing positive reinforcement, praise, and feedback. We believe education is relational and our teachers work hard at maintaining positive relationships with our students.
LOVED &
welcomed
BCA wants every child to understand Christian truths and respond to Christ’s good news. Biblical principles become the basis for a child’s values, and also the basis for future decisions, choices, and actions. Through Christian teachers, Bible instruction, chapel services, service events, and daily discipleship, our students are molded into who they are and who they will become.

BOUNDARY
One of the chief roles of the teacher is to create an environment in the classroom that promotes learning. Students can learn much better in well ordered classrooms. Consequently, our faculty utilizes effective classroom management models & behavioral approaches that communicate expectations, monitor pupil behavior, promote positive behaviors, & redirect inappropriate behavior.
UNIQUE
individuals
The class size in Kindergarten through 5th grade averages between 17 - 21 students. Class size makes a difference with positive correlation between lower class size and student achievement.
BCA students are not lost in a crowd.
