College Planning

BCA has enjoyed a long standing reputation of providing students with an excellent, rigorous college preparatory education within the context of a Christian worldview. Our curriculum includes eighteen (18) Honors courses and ten (10) Advanced Placement courses in the core disciplines which are provided on a traditional year long schedule.


In addition, our students may enroll in additional college courses through the dual enrollment programs at Alamance Community College, Elon University, and The College at Southeastern.

Brenda Payne

Director of College Planning

Brenda Payne is the Director of College Planning for the Burlington Christian Academy High School. Brenda enjoys working with high school students and their families as they implement plans for post-secondary opportunities. She works closely with administration in providing an enriched curriculum and testing program that is aligned with preparation for college entrance.


Brenda earned National Board Certification as a counselor while working with the Alamance Burlington School System where she retired in 2013. She earned a MEd in Guidance and a MEd in Home Economics Education from UNC-Greensboro. Her undergraduate program was completed at East Carolina University.


Feeling a personal need to continue serving students and families upon retirement, Brenda joined the BCA staff. Brenda is married to Boyd, her husband and best friend. They reside in Graham and are members of the First United Methodist Church in Graham. They frequently take day-trips to small towns where they look for local restaurants, antique stores, and historical markings.
